Litter July 13, 2006
Around the birth
As usual we have also taken three times a day the body temperature of Blaze about a week before the expected delivery date (counting from the first mating). On July 12, 2006 around 6.00 PM we noticed the first drop of the temperature, which was even more low around 11.00 PM that evening. But thinking about her first 2 litters, who were not according the rules saying about 24 hours later the first puppy, we were counting on everything from now on. Our instinct was correct this time also because she surely had no plans waiting till that time.

Blaze as always is just a suberb mother who has done the whole delivery without any problems and not really needing any of our help. Every puppy was easily born after some strong contractions and was cleaned right away with chewing the umbilical cord and eating the afterbirth. Blaze tried to dry them as good as possible and showed them the way to the hevaily filled nippels who are taken very strongly by the little ones.
Although she was pretty tired after puppy 5 and took a long rest, she is back to herself now and loves everything and everyone. Blaze really enjoys being a mother and takes hardly any time to go outside to relieve herself. Out other dogs were already allowed to take a quick look but ofcourse Blaze really watches them very carefully.
