Cupid x Bond
The mating
Perfect on time, Cupid started her season on March 10, 2007. At that moment we were anxiously waiting for the result of the TNS test of Cupid, while we already knew Bond is a carrier of TNS. Ofcourse breeding two TNS carriers together is not done, so we needed to have a clear TNS result of Cupid before we could go on with this mating. On March 16, 2007 we collected Cupid of her fosterhome for the annual normal eyetest (which she ofcourse succeeded without any problems) and we noticed that Bond was already showing much more interest in her than we were expecting after only so less days being in season. In the night of March 16 to March 17, we received the TNS result of Cupid and thankfully she was indead clear so nothing could stop us now from mating those two. During the following day when we have had Bond and Cupid put together and they did a mating without any problems. The mating has been repeated the next few days several times till both lovebirds thought they had enough.
Counting from the first mating, we expect the puppies from this stunning combination to be born around May 19, 2007.
Ultrasound
Without any doubt, we went to the vet for an ultrasound because the predictions looked okay, but ofcourse we wanted to be sure for more than 100%. On April 16, 2007 (day 30 counted from the first mating) we have had the ultrasound taken and right away we noticed several little sacks filled with a puppy, so we are absolutely sure, within 5 weeks from now we are expecting new little fluffy balls.

Final 2 weeks
The last week
Cupid has moved into her pen and spends her days being lazy in the litter box. Although she still likes to go outside she is clearly a pregnant mum who will defend the cradle of her offspring to be. We started with the ritual of taking her temperature three times a day so we can probably predict the beginning of the delivery early.
