Around the birth

And also with her third (and final) litter Wish is still being stubborn and against the grain. Ofcourse we have taken for the last week three times a day her bodytemperature. We know with her prvious litters, Wish is not for the unprinted rule that puppies are born about 24 hours after the big temperature drop. This time she had a normal temperature on August 7 around 11.00 PM. The next morning at 7.00 AM we noticed a little drop of the temperatur so were expecting more to come. But some hours later the temperature already started to rise and Wish was showing clearly signs the delivery was not that far away. Most likely the true temp. drop has been during the night and Wish thought she could fool us this time, but no way!

The whole delivery went as we are used to from Wish. She takes her time, has lots of time between the delivery of each puppy (especially at the end) and all puppies were proffesionally cleaned and helped into this world. And then the website is almost done and you are ready to annouce 8 gorgeous puppies have been born but Wish keep on going on with trying to tease us. While I am upstairs working on the computer there is someone at the frontdoor. After he has been helped and before going upstairs again, I have a quick look into the delivery box. My eyes are getting bigger when I see Wish very busy cleaning a very wet puppy with no coloured ribbon around the neck. Is this really true??? So I start counting and yes, we suddenly have 9 puppies almost 10 hours later after number 8 has been born. This means between puppy number 1 and number 9 we have almost 21 hours timedifference.

Wish will always remain a very special girl with her own ideas and thoughts and definately a mind of her own but gives us again a great gift of a litter of 9 puppies. Besides the stress and the long waiting, we are extreme proud on our special mother and all what rests now is 8 weeks of enjoyment with our 9 little redheadeds..
