Rebel seems to have enjoyed the experience of the delivery of her mother Wicked 3 days ago so much, she could not wait any longer with losing her own big belly. During Wednesday the temperature was dropping so we knew we could expect the delivery during Thursday and it happened exactly that way. After a very busy night with lots of panting and digging, we noticed around 4.30 in the morning the first serious contractions which were getting stronger and stronger. After almost 2 hours and a little help from us, with a big scream the first puppy was delivered. This puppy most likely has cleared the way, because only 5 minutes later puppy number 2 was born. At first Rebel thought everything was a little bit strange and weard: those wet, slippery, screaming little "rats" but thankfully her mother instinct easily won and she behaved perfectly.

Very sad was the moment when puppy 5 was born and we noticed an open palatum which forced us to make the hard decision of rushing into the vet and put him to sleap in a human way. This is the first time ever this has happened to us in all the years of breeding, but boy does it hurt to have to say goodbye to our little one.

Thankfully about an hour later a gorgeous, healthy little girl was given birth to so at the end we are so happy and thankfull with our 5 little puppies. Very special is the fact that within 3 days our Wicked has became both mother herself again and grandmother for the first time. Even more special is we have now 4 generations in our house: greatgrandmother Spottie (12 years), grandmother Wicked (almost 6 years), mother Rebel (almost 3 years) and ofcourse our 5 little ones.
