The mating

On December 21 and 23, 2009 our gorgeous, own bred, blue merle/tan lady Rebel has been mated for her second ltter to the marvelous, highly workable male Pioneer Painted Prairie von der Kleine Arche.

Counting from the first mating, the expected day of birth of the promising agility litter will be around February 22, 2010.

Ultrasound

While I was so extreme nervous (just like the many people on the waiting list), I already took Rebel on January 16 (day 26 counted from the first mating) to the vet for an ultrasound. We could not notice any signs at all that would show us a pregnancy but it seems Rebel was trying to fool us because the ultrasound thankfully cannot lie. We could easily see several little amnion sacks filled with an embryo, so not doubt anymore, we hope to welcome Rebels second litter in 5 weeks from now.
