The subtitel "A complete guide to understanding and caring for bitches" is a good description of the contents. Complete is actually a bit of an understatement. The heat and pregnancy, caring, diseases, symptoms, tips, pups, puppy buyers, every details seems to be covered. A large table with breed specific information and a number of clear and functional black and white drawings complete the book. Some parts are in a small print to cram all the information in 232 pages. The two writers are a veterinary surgeon and a breeder/journalist. Although a small amount of the information is targeted to the United States almost everything is generally applicable.
